I recently opened a pp and ebay account, and sold an item within 2 weeks for 650$. When I received that money, paypal instantly put a limit on my account( cant send or receive money ), but I did not send the buyer his items yet.
What should I do now?
1. Give the buyer his item, and work with paypal to take the limit off my account, so i get get my money
2. refund the buyer his money,

I really don't want to give the buyer his item and then have paypal screw me over and freezing my account later without me getting the money out.
After reading these forums it really looks like once you hit the "limited" mark, your account is doomed, so I don't know what to do

Alright... for those who didnt know, i know that paypal does some bad stuff but heres what happened during the Katrina thing...

Paypal cut off all transaction that had anything to do with donations for one reason... A group a ppl in the US gt caught trying to get donation for their personal use and not for giving to the victims. They gt more than $110,000 in donations... they gt caught and are now in jail till they die... AND if you guys didnt know, its illigal to give donations to someone without a company that does not have a license, therefore paypal was obliged to cancel all this. I repeat, yes, paypal does rob SOME ppl but this was done for the best... how many people gt robbed do you think, BEFORE they cut off paypal? I recommend that you search for THAT, a.k.a. what was given to the victims, and how many people gave to the victims... including that 110,000 bucks.... have fun..

paypalvictims, dear friend, i am not in the UK or Europe but i used to be a big exporter to those locations before paypal ruined my account. I have something in mind that i feel strongly it will hel you with the intended lawsuit. My experience here is that all European users and not only those signed within the UK have a contract with Paypal Europe also known as Paypal Ltd. which operates in Ireland. My experience also brings me to estimate that Paypal France is possibly the biggest non-English speaking site in frecuent users, about 80% of the transactions in Ebay France take place through Paypal, while other European non-speaking countries tend to prefer other methods, eg. in Germany bank transfers are #1, in Italy prepayed cards are above Paypal, but mostly bank transfers are more frecuent than Paypal except France. The point here is that all those European users have a contract with the same Paypal entity as those users in the UK, Paypal Ltd, which you will try to sue, and according to friends who are into laws (i am not lawyer but since paypal messed up with me i had to get help from lawyer friends), those users can also take legal action, and even unite into a particular lawsuit if they notified the diplomatic authorites of their country in Ireland. This may sound utopic but with good efforts it can work, there are many victims in France and Germany, recently i found a video in youtube.com from a person in Germany who expresses how he got ruined by paypal. So don't lose hope, you should get the contact info of the embassies or consulars of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, etc.. located in Ireland, so that victims in those countries can contact their embassies and team up in a lawsuit, that is legally possible! if you need any further help let me know and i will be gladly to assist! DON'T LOSE HOPE MY FRIEND!!

PaypalSucks, Thx for this web site and let me know the REAL FACE of PayPal and eBay. In fact, I have just started my business in eBay with PayPal. As I have a cheaper supplier, I sell the similar item in a less expensive price when compared with the Power Seller(http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&;userid=hongkongtoy) in eBay. After my eBay account is working for two weeks, eBay stopped my account and threaten me to provide my supplier's detail. As it is commercial secret, I refuse them. As eBay and PayPal have agreement, PayPal will draws my money for eBay... It is my first time to use U.S. Based auction service. I will do research on the web first in next time. Furthermore, I found that most people know PayPal only in Asia... That's why eBay and PayPal can grow large.
It seems that eBay is corrupted by this Power Seller!

prettypokerface, U will get your 8 grand in 180 days - make sure your solicitor sends them a letter to that extent.

PayPal in the UK are NOT FSA regulated (which they never openly say) - therefore you can't get FSA on their case.

By the flipside - funnily enough - since they are not in FSA orbit, fraudsters can play any tricks they want with PayPal and other members and normally get away with it.

My advice, forget about this venue. get your money back in 180 days and learn a valuable lesson. Stick yo UBid, NoChex and pold good cjeques and money orders in the future.

Sometimes it takes a "Tragedy" to Reveal the "Truth!" Although has any Seller asked, "Why So Many Tragedies?" If GM had a defect in one of their lines, where it was causing personal injury to others, how may injuries would it take, before action was initiated? Before someone actually stepped in, did a Full Investigation, and Levied Restitution, Stiff Fines, and a Complete Overhaul of how the company conducted business. Is there a certain number of injuries, that would need to be recorded, before the wheels of justice, were placed in motion?

I dare say that in this fictitious parallel, either GM or the Legal System, would act swiftly, if such an occurrence were to take place. The amount of injuries already suffered by the Victims of Paypal far exceed, the small amount of injuries that any company or the DOJ would blindly choose to ignore, especially for this long. Action would be taken, at some point along the line, and it wouldn't take years for justice to step in, and take the matter seriously. In the case of a major company like GM this is quite true. Why is it that with eBay/Paypal, this does not apply?

Physical Injuries are quite serious. Is Financial Injury any less serious? How many Sellers can afford great losses? For that matter, can any seller afford to incur losses in a struggling economy. Even if the economy was vibrant, should any seller have to put up with this? Who pays for all of this? Its really quite simple, "You Do!" Paypal/eBay, one in the same, has enough money, "Your Money" to do what ever they damn please, ironically with little consequence. You are merely a pawn in their corporate game, with absolutely "No Protection" from either eBay or Paypal, or the Department of Justice.

An Example: You can look at the Racketeers from Capones Day and if you do a little research, you find out very quickly that public officials were paid off and paid well, for "Silence!" The Sound of Silence is also very much alive and well, in the on going saga of eBay/Paypal's relentless trail of victims, left behind by these corporations. Thousands upon Thousands of Victims, not the small number that I referred too, early on in regards to my Fictitious GM example.

Yet nothing changes, expect the number of complaints against these company's, which mounts daily. For those of you who are new at the eBay Game, this is not a problem that arose last week, last month, or last year. This Tragedy has been going on for "YEARS!" That fact is just as shocking to me today, as it was, when I was a Powerseller on eBay.

And until the Sellers Shut Down eBay's Site, and the Sellers and Websites Refuse to except Paypal on the Internet, you will continue to be a Victim of these two corporations, and you will indeed have plenty of company. If it hasn't happened to you yet, you can be assured, that in time, you will get your turn at being screwed over. That's a Given!!! The sellers have always had it within their power to Stop the Madness! I fail to understand, after years of personally, fighting against both eBay and Paypal, why the Sellers continue to just "Let it Happen!"

Balls in Your Court!!!

I have never had an account at either PayPal or eBay.
However, I keep getting notices that my account will be
frozen...

Next step, I send copies of all future emails to the
FCC fraud division.

As soon as I posted the above, the notices stopped.
Are the trolls at work? Did I put the fear in someone?
