<Thermoptic>, I THOUGHT PAYPAL WAS O.K. AND I USED THEM FOR 4 YEARS. THIS YEAR I HAVE DONE CLOSE TO 1 MILLION IN SALES WITH THEM AND E-BAY. TODAY 10/26/2005 THEY FROZE MY ACCOUNT WITH $22000 IN IT. WHY? BECAUSE THEY PULLED MY PERSONAL CREDIT REPORT AND SAID IT WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM, A FEW LATE HOUSE PAYMENT I GUESS. MAYBE A LATE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT. BOTTOM LINE IS THEY ARE BURYING ME HAS WE SPEAK, MY BUSINESS CAN NOT TAKE A HIT LIKE THIS. SO MY ADVICE TO YOU IS GET ANOTHER SERVICE BEFORE THEY GET YOU. BECASUE WHEN IT HAPPENS TO YOU IT KILLS YOU AND TEARS YOU UP INSIDE. MY REPUTATION IS ON THE LINE HERE, THANKS PAYPAL. YOU DO SUCK

Did anyone consider that PayPal simply did not want any money going to an organization that has any kind of religious support; ie the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Feed the Children, etc, they only support and want to be supported charities that hold to athiestic views and are completely non-religious in nature, this is why they love the United Way so much because it supports supposedly "deverse" non profits like planned parenthood and the ACLU who use there donation money to pay for things like passing laws that our 14-15 year old children can get abortions without our knowledge, we all know this is so much more important than helping hurricane victims, espesially because that evil Red Cross might offer to pray with someone if they just lost everything and are falling appart, they actually view groups like the Red Cross as "taking advantage of tragidy to encourage religion", this is why they offer to donate the "held" money to the United Way instead of the Red Cross

I used to be one of those people that defended PayPal.
NO MORE!!! You guys are SOOOO right on about them and their B.S. TOS. They hid behind that thing with me, and shut down my account, took my money, and basically put me out of business for the time being. They are NOT a good company. And to hear that they have done this numerous times to good people that have done nothing wrong really says a ton about these guys.
My story is in this forum. Just look for my name (PAYSTEAL) and read up on it if you're interested. It's a mess, and they didn't even have the courtesy to explain the specifics on my case.
Just hearing about this garbage they pulled with the donations has me fuming. I agree entirely with what's been said by Dina and PayPalSucks. It does say alot, for me, about any person at this point in time that can listen to the stories throughout this site and still support a company like PayPal. And to say that the people taking donations are doing it for the sake of pride?? Holy crap...is that the best you can do Livewire? Keep grasping at straws, maybe you can eventually tell yourself that PayPal is reputable. But for those of us that have gone the rounds with them and seen how it really is, we know better.

The simple reason why people like being the third party is for the tax write off...just think if you donated $30K from YOUR account and you make say $100K+ a year...shit you be paying hardly any taxes...lol

Have you posted this information about the AG at feebay's PayPal boards????
If you do don't use your selling ID. You may also get pink slapped for even trying to help. LOL
Many of us posted over there more than a year or two ago. The newly effected people have no clue what to do and WON'T get any help from pp PAID cheerleaders over there.
I've been lurking and it saddens me to see a whole new round of people getting screwed by ppbay.
PS Many of us DID file formal complints with the AG's FTC SEC US AG's office and all the news media. Many me thinks are on the payroll of this monopolistic company in many branches of our government as it seems they just keep getting away with this.

xppman, Well that was my thing, more people need to know to go the AG, at least take the time to complain...can you imagine how many complaints they would have if at least half of these posters complained?
I think the problem is, paypal backs up every complaint with their user agreement...AG office admitted that it is sooooo overwhelming trying to decipher it. So I told them (they agreed) they need to zero in on the "reasoning". Example, they put me in limited access? Why? Because I logged in from a computer showing the same IP address that someone else used!! where on that user agreement does it show that I can risk my account/money that way??? So this is what they were most interested in. And i think that TOS needs to be looked at closely...
I also told her that many x employees frequent this website, and are positive they rack in the interest to any account on hold.

The info may be here already but as we are finding a whole new batch of people effected by paypal I though I would give you all a link to some places were you can file your complaints. The more people who get involved and FILE the better chance that the FEDS WILL do something to bring pp in line or shut them down.
