I can understand being screwed by a company and posting its faults. I cannot understand if you are who you claim you are why you are still using paypal on your website if you had such an incident with the company. If it were me after that happened to be I would pull all ties to the company.

PaypalSucks, PAYPAL SELLERS BEWARE! Did you know that Paypal is OWNED by EBAY? Both Ebay & Paypal collect fees from the SELLER, yet engage in UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES against the seller! Keep reading & I will tell you how to fight back! This was my experience: I sold 3 statues on Ebay. My ad stated very clearly "AS IS. ALL SALES FINAL. NO REFUNDS." I used such care packaging the items (separate boxes INSIDE the box) that I even incurred out of pocket expenses on the underestimated S& H. The buyer waited 9 days after UPS delivered the package to allege that 1 of the statues arrived broken! 9 days! I kindly offered her a full refund of her purchase price, even though I didn't have to. She didn't want to retun the items (hmm...suspicious) She filed a complaint with Paypal. I faxed Paypal a 2 pg. response (buyer forewarned of my no refund policy, chose not to insure items, waited 9 days to allege damage, refused my full purchase price refund offer, refused to return items.) I was shocked when Paypal gave buyer a $50 refund (she only paid $56.99) & allowed her to keep my 3 statues valued at $355! This means I received only $6.99 for the sale, so minus my Ebay & Paypal fees, out of pocket S & H, I ended up in the negative! I appealed their decision. Then Paypal informed me the buyer dismissed the complaint (I guess so- She ended up with nearly all her money AND the items!) so they violated my right to appeal! In my opinion, this is fraud & theft, & a violation of Paypals own rules which state that a buyer must return item "IN ORIGINAL CONDITION\" to get a refund. To anyone victimized by Paypal, I suggest you file a complaint against both PAYPAL & EBAY (they are a team)with their governing agencies: Attorney General's Office & the Better Business Bureau both in California (Paypal's headquarters)& Nebraska(their resolution center.)I urge you to go to the website: LAWYERSANDSETTLEMENTS.COM and click on the link to review a case. Fill out the form explaining how you were wronged by Ebay. If enough victims report this abuse, they could file a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against this huge corporation with deep pockets. xppman, I was told today that three weeks ago when these people told me I was getting a check that it actually was dropped and it would be 6 months. So I took the old southern way to handle it and cussed the supervisor beyond recognition and finally got a caser number id for my check, lol, yeah right like I will fall for this one again. I am going to get my own lawyer in 14 days if I dont have this check.

helene oba, ebay does not only track and spy on it's users.
They also keep VERY tight tabs on the employees.
I sincerely hope you did not get fired for posting here and I'm
glad you posted to this site as well.

A fine illustration of the employee pool at ebay admin, I'd say she represents the company well.

I work on buyers complaints myself, I know our system is not 100 % perfect but how is?

I too have been ripped off by paypal, I sold a purse on ebay sent the item and nearly 5 weeks later I get a dispute on the purse claiming it was fake. I raised the question tha after 5 weeks how am I to know that is my pruse they are refurring. They went through this whole process and the person got the pruse looked at (yet paypal would not share that documentation with me) and bottom line with paypal is I had to refund the money and take the purse back.

Upon logging into my account I noticed that I had a neagitve balance from this whole issue and that paypal was going to charge my creidt card which they did to recoer there money. SO I opened a claimw ith my creidt card company about this stating I never recieved any service or item for this transauction nor did I aurthize it. My credit Card company weeks later gets back to me says that paypal provided information that the charge was infact aurthized and if I do not agree with it I have 24 hours to answer back as to why. So I once again go through the process of explaining my story of what happened but now I have a closed case with paypal and the buyer never sent the item to my address it was sent else where and whom ever it was refused the item. So I am out 300.00 bucks and a purse. My creidt card company state if I do not hear anything in 45 days consider the credit final.

PAYPAL IS A SCAM AND THEY SUCK. As far as I am conserned they should shut this place down, they way they treat us seller is HORRIABLE, I was tole I was a fraud and that selling a fake purse like I did I should be luck they are not taking me to court and that I am not facing jail time (please note I did not sell a fake purse I sent all auth info with it and am getting scamed) I was also told even tho the package was not dilevered to me but refused that is my fault and the buyer now get themoney and the purse PAYPAL HAS DONE ITS PART. I DONT THINK SO .......I no longer use PAYPAL for anything I am don with them and I warn people about using there services as well. I dare paypal to fight this charge back because what happened to me as well as other that I am reading about on this board is just WRONG and I feel Paypal should not put out of business for there WRONGFULL ACTIONS. But I guess that goes along with there user agreement huh.......

If you file a charge back, and steal paypals money dont call and complain when they dispute it. you took it up with your credit card your there problem now!!

I had the same bad experience with PayPal. I sold an item that was promptly delivered by FedEx (I have the tracking conformation). The buyer entered a “positive” feedback that the item was received and is good (i.e. as described and working properly). Few weeks later the idiots at PayPal notify me that they will initiate a chargeback. Nothing I have provided made them even considers the stupidity of what they were doing. In spite of many many emails they never explained their reasons for doing this. And then … to add insult to injury they “suspended” my account even though I made all the promised payments and I have 100% positive feedback from buyers. So now they locked me out and they have my money in my account which they will not release. PAYPAL SUCKS BIG TIME. Never do business with PayPal unless you are ready to get ripped off by them. Be aware Pay”Pal” ain’t no “Pal” PayPal is your nightmare that will still you blind whenever it can. I am still doing business on EBay but my sells and purchases are strictly “NO PAYPAL OFFERED OR ACCEPTED”.

DeepSouth,

If you complained to PayPal then you did not intiate a chargeback. PayPal is relying on the fact that you probably don't know your rights and the steps to properly disputing your claim. They tell you that you are unsuccessful in the hopes that you will go away.

You gave PayPal a chance and they failed you, now go to your cerdit card issuer and raise a chargeback with them and you will be refunded.

DeepSouth, Did you try to go through PayPal or your credit card company? If you had gone through your credit card company you probably would have been successful. The original message is about PayPal giving in to Credit Card chargebacks and having an out. If you complain to PayPal they won't help, like you've experienced.

PaypalSucks, I can tell you that they do in fact dispute chargebacks. They declined my chargeback eventhough I was ripped off by the seller and the seller could not be contacted. Paypal even lied to me about the reasons I was denied my chargeback. this is is a direct quote from an email that I received: "The seller has provided information that they have sent replacement merchandise to
you.". Of course I never did receive anything (over three weeks now), and the official reason stated in the denial by my credit card company was that I still had the Junk that was sent.
