Dina, lol. It'll be arriving from a gmail account.
Just FYI, even when I'm at work, I don't use canned email responses. I have a bunch that I've typed up myself that I use. I find the stock ones are difficult for customers to understand, and they seem to have a much easier time with my responses.

Dina, I'm actually off for the weekend, but I don't like going into people's accounts unless I have them on the phone or have an email from them anyhow. I've emailed you, I'll read your letter when I receive a response.

ref31, once again, you are wrong..wow, you must be a newbie to PP
cause anyone who has worked there for a number of years would try to defend PP practices. PP put the account in limited access, where he is unable to access anything...nothing..they got everything..he is legit seller...and they put him in limited and send they will keep it that way for 180 days (yes this also happened to someone i know) it is happening to way too many people..i mean really..we all can't be liars could we? half these people i talked to on here got the exact same letters i got for different circumstances...paypal can't keep doing this to people without some sort of recourse

Dina, because it makes great business sense to kneecap your revenue stream so they can't receive any payments, when the only way your company makes money is by charging fees FOR receiving payments. Does this sound logical to you?
When a chargeback happens, it doesn't limit the seller's account. It simply places a hold on the funds involved (and ONLY those funds) until the matter is sorted out. If a chargeback is granted, the funds are reversed. The sellers account is still open and fully able to send and receive funds as normal.

ref31, ref..there are people who are legit sellers..they hold alot of money in thier account..one out of 100 people try to pay with a fraudulent cc, and pp seizes the sellers account
and then they are unable to get it out of limited access and they claim they are holding onto the funds for 180 days...WHY
it was thier fault..and yes i am speaking of experience...my friends account is put in limited for that same reason..then PP sends him , yet another standardized letter saying...we need to hold funds for 180 days...and about"parting ways""
that is crap if you ask me...just another excuse from PP

Dina, buy or sell at your own risk?
What do you think you're doing now?
Someone uses a stolen credit card to send you a payment, and you end up with a chargeback, like it's PayPal's fault that you were the victim of fraud. If you sold a car and someone paid you with counterfeit money, and your bank refused to accept it, would you blame the bank, and say that they're at fault because you're out the money and the item?
If you're eligible for SPP (which was recently expanded) then you may get a payout to cover the chargeback, but otherwise, you were the victim of fraud, and you should contact your police department. Just keep in mind that PayPal is the payment processor, not the person committing fraud against you; that's the buyer. It appears that you need to learn that distinction.
People claiming that PayPal is committing fraud by granting chargebacks remind me of the people who call up demanding to know when we're going to ship their item, fully believing that PayPal and eBay have a warehouse somewhere full of all the items for sale on eBay, and that theirs is sitting there, just waiting to be shipped.

ref31,
of course we do..we were the ones scammed by paypal..my suggestion is...if paypal is stuck between the legit sellers, and the scammers like they say they are, (although i don't believe it) they are better off closing up paypal..accept the notion that is just isn't working ..and go back to the old ways...before paypal existed..buy or sell at your own risk...(which us sellers pretty much did just signing up with paypal in the first place)and just accept/send money orders...Paypal sucks...there is no other way to put it..

Here's a tip, if you REALLY want to get your money back after getting screwed by paypal, you need to file a small claims lawsuit against them (if you are in California), and/or have a lawyer send a threatening letter to their agent for service of process:
Corporation
PAYPAL, INC.
Number: C2171783 Date Filed: 7/30/1999 Status: active
Jurisdiction: DELAWARE
Address
2145 HAMILTON AVE
SAN JOSE, CA 95125
Agent for Service of Process
NATIONAL REGIST ERED AGENTS, IN C.
2030 MAIN STREET STE 1030
IRVINE, CA 92614
Also, FILE a police report and fax it to paypal at 402-537-5760. And email their escalations dept. at crme@paypal.com
I paid a lawyer $99 to send a letter to them (there are services like this online). I had to do the fax and emails at least 6 times to keep reopening my appeals when a scammer stole $15k from me. Their escalations dept. told me that their "reugular" employees were "accidentally" closing my appeal without really looking at it. 6 times!!!!
This is how I got scammed, and a scammer can do this EVERY time. Scammer sells me something. I pay by paypal. Scammer doesn't send anything, basically forcing me to file a "non-receipt" claim. Seller sees that I filed a non receipt claim and ships and then ships an empty box, which I sign for hoping its what I paid for. Seller then provides tracking number of empty box to paypal. paypal closes the case. I appeal their decision to close the case, but paypal says they have proof of receipt. So I say I need to now file a "not as described" complaint. Paypal then informs me that SINCE I ORIGINALLY FILED A NON-RECEIPT REPORT, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE CAN IT BE CHANGED TO "NOT AS DESCRIBED"!!! This is the genius of paypal. Their system makes you stick with the original complaint. Scam sellers know this loophole and are exploiting it folks, so watch out.

<Cheri Woods>,
A guy bought a surfboard from me. Broke it and sent it back-then charged back. I got taken. Wonder how many surfshops sell broken surfboards? I am pursuing outside of paypal and ebay. They are like fighting a speeding ticket in a town where the sheriff and judge are brothers.
Mike
