I feel honored that now I have a
copy cat (impostor) poster.

Shows we are indeed being effective against
PayPal ebay and LieWorld and that they all love us so much for helping folks out.LOL
Must be a new strategy in their LIEWORLD "play book" they are trying
as the old tiered worn out "you agreed to it when you signed up"
script is not effective. Not that it ever was.

The paypal cheerleaders defense of this is that there "must" be more to the story as you could possibly be laundering money haha

On lastThursday, paypal restricted my account and told me I needed to verify my identity. They did they when I opened the account. I provided the required information as they requested. I get an email from paypal stating my account has been reinstated. Yet, I'm unable to remove my money from the account because it is still frozen. Paypal just told me there suspicious activity on my account. My account wasn't frozen until I sold several items on ebay and the buyers paid me. Now all paypal says to me is email their appeals department and they'll tell me why my account is truly frozen in detail. I don't hear back from the email at the appeals dept so I call Paypal again. Now they're saying that my account is linked to an account that has disputes.
I can't seem to get a straight answer from these people. All the money from the items that I sold on ebay is in that frozen account. Paypal said my account will stay frozen until I resolve the issues with the account that's linked to mine. I don't have any account linked to mine. They wouldn't tell me any other details other than that. I've sold items and can't get my money. I'm not paying somebody elses account off to re-open my account. What's up with that? Does anyone know how and if I can get resolution? Does the BBB help with these matters in getting our money back? I've removed paypal from my auction listings and told customers that I take USPS money orders. I haven't found any other online payment solutions. It seems that BidPay is no longer up and running when I tried it a few days ago.

<firestone>,
It's a person's/company's attitude that's the problem, not the fact that they have money or not. Besides, if you suddenly found yourself to be the richest person in the world, could you be absolutely certain that you wouldn't abuse that power? That's what eBay and Paypal have done...they have monopolized the auction and payment processor business and are abusing what power they have.
Sundance: It is interesting to analyze the attitude that comes with wealth. Since we're talking about eBay, and the wealth that grew from an idea, we also can easily recognize that this company became drunk with power in the process.
In the early days, eBay was a much different place to buy and sell. They still had not achieved status, and they truly cared about the site and the sellers. In the beginning, it was a beautiful thing.
When I first starting selling on eBay in 1999, I thought I had found, the perfect place to groom my business. Sellers were invited by eBay to do so. Then as eBay became the Giant, and extraordinary wealth graced their world, something changed. Their Agenda Changed, and the Sellers became nothing, but the vehicle that drove the money to the bank.
eBay's attitude became aggressive. A large company, that crushed anything in their way. Narrowing Options for Payment, especially once the deal was cut for paypal. Going After the Competition with a Vengeance, that took with it, your ability to profit from your wares. Seducing Big Business, which began to Winnow, the Mom and Pop Sellers out of existence. You see there wasn't room for everyone, just those who had the capacity to fill ebay's bank account the fastest, with the most money.
Abuse of Power is exactly, what has transpired. A vision for eBay, which has not included the selling community. What makes this worse, is that the sellers have "No Protection" from either eBay or Paypal. We have no Sellers Union. (Which I always thought would be of immense benefit to the selling community) We can't go to the bargaining table with our grievances, or stop any changes to eBay's Site, that detrimentally effect each and every one of us. There is no bargaining table. It's eBay's Way or No Way. eBay controls the block!
Now that the abuse that eBay/Paypal has heaped upon their own community, is totally out of control: Causing financial hardship, through outright theft, we can't get protection, even when there is an astronomical amount of complaints against them. I find it ironic, since the gravity of this does not seem to merit a huge investigation, into the entire eBay Empire.
You asked...
Besides, if you suddenly found yourself to be the richest person in the world, could you be absolutely certain that you wouldn't abuse that power?
Sundance: I can only speak for myself on this one. Yes, I can! I have always felt that if I ever came into a lot of money, I would of course do something with my money, make more money. That is the smartest way to handle your finances. That way financially I would be secure. Although I wouldn't use my money, to harm others, or to work a hardship on people. I would feel fortunate to have acquired my riches, so I would make sure that I used that money with integrity.
If I was the richest person in the world, and started my own business, I would pay good wages, give bonuses, and show my employee's that I felt fortunate that they were on my team. It's called Appreciation.
Now eBay has claimed that they're "Only a Venue!" We may not be employee's of eBay in the classic sense, but we most definitely bring in the money, through our labor. eBay depends on the work, that the sellers do, for their income. So in a round about way, we do work for eBay.
Now here is something to ponder....
The eBay Community is made up of eBay members, buyers and sellers, as well as eBay staff. The eBay Community encourages open and honest communication among all its members. You'll find that respect and communication are the cornerstones of eBay's dynamic Community.
Sundance: Respect and Communication are the Cornerstones of eBay's Dynamic Community? The Sellers are Censored on eBay's Boards and Harassed by Liveworld Board Moderators. Can't see that we are respected, or that full communication of our thoughts and grievances, are allowed to be discussed in eBay's Public Forums.
Community values
eBay provides the following resources The eBay Community is guided by the following five fundamental values:
We believe people are basically good. (as long as we stay in line, and sing eBay's Praises)
We believe everyone has something to contribute. (Yeah, well if you have something to contribute, it better be "eBay is Wonderful" or we're throw you off the site)
We believe that an honest, open environment can bring out the best in people. (Honest and Open Environment? Are we talking about eBay?)
We recognize and respect everyone as a unique individual. (No, we really want eBay Groupies. No Unique Individuals Allowed!!! Unique Individuals are Nothing but Trouble!)
We encourage you to treat others the way you want to be treated. (Except eBay of course, because we can treat you anyway, that we want to treat you. Question our motives, and you'll find out!!!)
eBay is firmly committed to these principles. And we believe that community members should also honor them—whether buying, selling, or chatting with eBay friends.
(Yes, the community members must honor these fine principals, and we at eBay Corporate will Honor NO ONE. We have No Principles at Corporate in San Jose. We have Your Money and Loads of Arrogance. It's never our fault, it's YOURS, and it was bought and paid for by the eBay Community of Sellers. So Live with it!)
If you don't read the UA's it's Your Fault, we make it clear that we intend to rip you off and take your money. If you decide to sign up, are we responsible for what you do, or for what happens to you? No Way Jose!!!
No eBay!!! No Paypal!!! No Problem!!!

<Patrick>,
You welcome'
Also I want you to know this is an intelligent place to get good info.
But what you see from time to time are ebay's henchmen over here.
See ebay contracts LieWorld (a kind of sick PR firm) and LieWorld contractors
all have a slue of IDs that ebay gives them to post on ebay's boards with.
They come here and try to derail topics just like at ebay's own boards.
It is their JOB...
Folks if you get past page on here you will see there are millions of posts
from unique users who have experienced problems with PayPal
and there ARE REAL solutions in theses threads on how to fight back.
The LieWorld damage control team comes here often.
You just experienced one above.
They are really pathetic little frauds and probably bid on each other real ebay auctions too.
They are not being effective as ebays own numbers tell the TRUE story.
In eBay's Q4 2005 filing with the SEC in the "PayPal Unaudited Supplemental Operating Data" section of the report. they stated PayPal has 96.2 million registered users but only 28.2 million active accounts....meaning there were 68 million INACTIVE users.
Pretty sad state of affairs for ebay PP and LieWorld if you ask me.

Quote: Sundance, just look at ebay/paypal as weeds growing out of your backyard. If you chop it, it'll just grow back. So where is the root? the federal reserve system, those who control inflation, issue currency, set loans how much percentage to charge on it. Decide whether to loan you or not, makes the law. Our economy bad or good is artificially controlled by the few that are hiding in the shadow as we speak. Our money is no longer in circulation, their taking up cash and shredding it to pieces replacing it with credit/debit aka as debt. By putting you in debt, you are at their mercy. Because it is an IOU thing, a promise to pay back with interest!
Let's say you borrow 1000 bucks, after 1 year it became 2000. Where do you get the rest to pay off? You slave for it! That's evil while these swindler sit on their lazy ass do nothing and get stinking rich.
This is a war between good and evil. Evil = rich
good = poor
Sorry, but your labelling people like that reeks of discrimination! There are plenty of evil poor people out there, just like there are plenty of good rich people! It's a person's/company's attitude that's the problem, not the fact that they have money or not. Besides, if you suddenly found yourself to be the richest person in the world, could you be absolutely certain that you wouldn't abuse that power? That's what eBay and Paypal have done...they have monopolised the auction and payment processor business and are abusing what power they have. These forums are to address the problems created by those companies and to offer constructive advice to those who come here. If you can't offer specific help, please don't come here to complain about the world...we can't change the world, but we can help others to win small battles with these large companies!

ref31,
PayPal is definetly responsible. That conterfeit money is a false analogy. What would be correct is that if someone wired you the money, and the bank said it was received. Then for some reason the bank finds out it was a glitch in the system being exploited. They cannot just say sorry, and take the money out of your account. They have to take the loss. They verified that you had received the money. Then they charge that $10 for disputing. That is such bull shit. Paypal is such a cash cow. They incur very small expenses. They are probably dealing with a 99% profit margin. They charge 30 cents per transaction plus 2.9%. to subtract x from account a and add x to account b. They don't advertise any phone number to call them on, you have to find it on some other site. They have 1000 employees or less. Then some server fees, some lawyers. Such a high profit margin, and they cannot even take a small loss to insure that people don't start hating them. Stupid. They should eat the loss of chargebacks. It was their job to verify the credit card in the first place. Then they tell you that you received money. Fine. Or maybe the credit card company should take the loss. Someone should. I know it shouldn't be the merchant with a clean record. Such bull shit. Oh well, fuch paypal. Eventually someone will come along with a better service that costs way less. Like myspace.com for instance vs. match.com or other places that charge too much. You know they would make it real simple if they put in the TOS, buy beware, and thats it. Thats how it is in real life. Atleast online you can see their record. Now back to the chargebacks. What really burns me is that I have gotten chargebacks that say something like unauthorized. basically the credit card was stolen. Why doesn't paypal disable that persons account? They make like 4 charge backs, and cost the merhcant $10 each so $40. Then they the buyer go and buy more stuff with the same credit card. Wtf, is that stupid or what?

In a Democracy, we expect to be protected from corrupt systems, organizations and corporations. That is what the system is suppose to be, all about. Safeguarding the Rights of Consumers, is the Obligation of a Democratic Society. That is what our officials are elected into their positions, to do. This is how they earn their paycheck.
Before the next elections of these paid servants of the people, take place, it may do well to remind them of this oath of office. It might be extremely important, before these political runners, take office, to: Write or email these candidates, in regards to Paypal and eBay, and tell them your horror stories.
That the astronomical numbers of sellers being abused and ripped off by these companies, has gone on far too long, without intervention. That we expect action from our government, and nothing less will do. That the sheer amount of victims, by these companies is enough to warrant immense legal action. That it is the responsibility of those in high office, to act, and act swiftly in behalf of the consumer.
If we're extremely lucky, perhaps this next term, an official with integrity, will be moved to take action against eBay/Paypal. No investigation, by those in office, will fail to find it's way into Major Headlines. Thousands of letters and emails flooding into the offices and campaign headquarters of Candidates wanting your vote, will not go unnoticed.
Democracy Works!
No eBay!!! No Paypal!!! No Problem!!!
