<Fletcher>,
Well, Fletcher, your assumptions are incorrect. I do not work for PayPal and I am not making excuses for them. So, I guess that would mean I also don't get paid overtime for posting on here. I know exactly what the hell I am talking about, because I used to work there. I listened to people like you all day long and did whatever I could to help, but the people you talk to on the phones basically have no control. They can't grant your appeals or make decisions on anything. The only thing they can do is listen to your rants and raves. I can honestly say that when I worked there, only about 1% of the people who called and complained had a legitimate case. The rest failed to read the user agreement and didn't abide. And no, I didn't leave because I hated PayPal, I left because I hated having to be nice to ignorant people like you and explain in sincere terms that you are a moron and you didn't follow the rules.

To the administrator: Of course you are going to have new people posting all the time, that's what happens when millions of people keep signing up for a service and then a small % of them get pissed off and need a place to vent their frustrations. But don't think for 1 second that your website here is going to be the demise of PayPal. So, I predict you'll continue to get more posts from new people, just as PayPal will continue to get millions of new customers. Also, administrator, I didn't know that the word 'everyone' was inclusive of an entire corporation. So no, that doesn't include PayPal as a corporation. It includes the individuals buying and selling online. You took the risk of buying from or selling something to someone you didn't even know, but it's the American way to blame others for our own stupidity. This site is no different.

Except... the user agreement is probably not legally binding. After all, you sign waivers at the hospital saying you won't sue when you have surgery, but still lots of people sue hospitals after surgery. But of course, those people who sue hospitals are probably just as ignorant of the "user agreement" that many former Paypal members are.

PaypalSucks,

Guys, Let me give you ALL a really godo peice of advice yeh. What I'm about to say is heartfelt and genuine and too share in your frustration with the way Paypal do business and treats its customers.

You are TOTALLY wasting your time asking ANYONE on here for help EVEN if they CLAIM to be workoing for Paypal. Trust me, these peopl edo not give a flying **** about me, you or anyone else that they scam on a regular basis.

Ask yourself this question. Why do you think that Paypal hide there telephone number so well on the site? Do you see it displayed prominently on the front page? NO ! Why? Becuase they cant be bothered to help you thast why? Then, if you do call them and your lucky enough to get anyoen that speaks a word of english they fill you full o fbullshit to get you off the phone.............safe in the knowledge that youll eventually get sick of trying !

I was ripped off....and i DO mean RIPPED OFF by paypal through no fault of my own and i lost thousands. I wont bore you all with the detials as i know you all have enough problems of your own, but basically I bought a load 'lot' of 200 Mobile phones that turned out be be VERY dodgy. So, the guy I bought off sold me rubbish, I complained, I sent all 200 phones back (with receipts for transit obvioulsy) and having managed after 3 months to get my money back off the guy himself PAYPAL REFUNDED IT BACK TO HIM OUT OF MY ACCOUNT !!!!!!!

WHAT THE **** !!

So now not only do i have no phones at all, but im £10,000 out of pocket !

Paypals response? They tell me it is my responsibility to resolve with the seller !!

My advice to EVERYONE out there is this. DO NOT waste your time asking for help, calling them or writing emails (they never get read). Instead, why doesnt EVERYONE who has been ruipped off by them get together and actually go to there offices?

Has anyone ever considered doing this? I know nobody is going to go to that expense for a few poounds...........but if there are others liek me whove lost thousands then I say we take matters into our own hands this time.

I wont be ripped off anyway, not by anyone...........so the question is whos with me??

steve00, You can't, you are screwed. That JUST happened to me, it is up to the credit card company apparently- Paypal says the y fight them, but they don't. My best advice- close your bank account- open a new one, leave paypal with a negative balance, otherwise you will lose your money & the watch. I wish I did that- instead I made my account positive- then lost all my money anyway- it is bull. Take the money & run- otherwise, you will live with stress, havoc & unwarranted harassment from the buyer- Paypal rips sellers off- over & over.

<helene oba>, You work for paypal? Then help me fight MY wrongful chargebacks. The buyer requested the chargebacks be cancelled, I even got the email FROM paypal saying a request to cancel was rec'd- but then, all of a sudden they closed it, settled it on the buyers behalf stating 'they don't have enough info to dispute the claim' BULL!!! The BUYER HERSELF told PayPal to cancel it, she even contacted her credit card to tell them MY transactions were legit!!! PayPal doesn't look at evidence, if they did, then I'd have MY money back- now the buyer has all my items, and her money- so she basically got $2K in items for free- and I am out my money & my inventory. I intend to press charges against the buyer for theft of goods, but ultimately PayPal is to blame not her- she requested the chargebacks be cancelled- but Paypal didnt do it.

PaypalSucks, First let me start by saying that PayPal does NOT fight them. I had a buyer who purchased 2 items from me, 1 for $157.50 and the other for $324.00- back in May/June. July 26 a chargeback was filed for BOTH transactions. I contacted the buyer- who was all apologetic, apparently her debit card was somehow used illegally through PayPal, on many transactions- however, some of those sales were legit- like mine & a few others- feedback, delivery conf., etc... the buyer actually contacted PayPal told them to cancel the chargebacks on the 2 sales with me, I got an email from Paypal saying she requested they be cancelled. I thought- in the bag, done, soon I will get my money back- WRONG!!!!! I got the blanket email I saw posted on the previous page- 'We are sorry you experienced a chargeback, but unfortunately we do not have enough information to dispute this claim, it closed and a settlement has been issued to the buyer'
I lost $481.50!!! Now, I called the buyer, who called Paypal & they said 'sorry its closed!!!' Any ideas on how I can resolve this? I am tired of Paypal- they didn't try- you mean to tell me that the buyers request to cancel it was NOT sufficient evidence on my behalf that the chargebacks were false? Now what??? I eat it, let her keep all $2,000 in items I sold to her? I have delivery confirmation, I have emails from the buyer apologizing & telling me she will do what she can to make mine better.... yeah, PayPal more than sucks.

PaypalSucks, Getting control in a Paypal situation is not all that difficult--the first thing a buyer need be aware of is the Paypal way of trying to convince you to use their service--because of "buyer protection" which is a worthless $200. The ONLY thing 1 needs to know is: NEVER, EVER, NEVER, EVER, NEVER, EVER use their Paypal-direct debit function!!! ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use the "secondary funding" function with 1 of your credit cards, despite all the false warnings from Paypal---ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use this function, because your credit card company will chargeback Paypal on all transactions gone bad, WITHOUT the $200 limit, and I won head-to-head with Paypal, so my direct recommendation is always fund ALL transactions with 1 of your credit cards---ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS---ALWAYS!!!!!!

PaypalSucks, Paypal in all their glory and wisdom has frozen my account. I pay employees oversees with this stupid F**king paypal. I have one dispute, they froze my entire account because I am a couple of dollars in the negative. Now every transaction I do, charges extra in the amount of the dispute. What a joke, so by the end of the week, I will have transfered 5 grand extra, to cover a lousy 200 bucks. I hate them so much, they said I just have to wait 6-8 days for my original transfer to clear. All the while they are charging and double charging me over and over. They have halted my business over a lousy 200 bucks. Screw their damn phone operators, they are stupid, they can't answer any questions at all. Useless and dumb is the whole Paypal system. Those bastards are still charging me for each employee I pay, they are adding another 200 bucks, they said to wait a week and not pay them, this is their solutions? I am so choked!

I recently had my account frozen after some buttwad decided to scam me over $400, and to make a long story short paypal is closing my account and is holding almost $1000 for 6 months. How can I tell in my pp account if the payments to me were made with a credit card or bank transfer? It says "instant" under details in my account, but nothing else. I want to file a lawsuit against paypal for destroying my life and keeping my money and trying to persecute me as the criminal when I was the one scammed, but has anyone had any luck? Please help!

doctoru2,

If you receive an empty box and if it is covered by shipping insurance, file a claim with the shipping service, tell them the article inside the box is lost.

Well, as part of the scam, the seller never had this insured! I asked him for tracking numbers and insurance, and all he said was he had "proof of shipping" and he'd send me the info. He did - it was an apparent receipt for the "stamp" he put on the box. In other words, he didn't really have true proof. This package was supposed to be from the U.K. I live in the U.S. Yet, there was no return address, insurance sticker, signature request or, most importantly, custom's declaration. The Postal Service stated that it is impossible for any package to arrive into the U.S. without this custom's declaration. In other words, this package could not have come from the U.K. The Postal Service said that it appears this whole transaction was fake - including the stamp and receipt (which is postal fraud).

While I was able to do a charge back, to date PayPal is still investigating this claim. It really annoys me - I gave them oceans of proof that this was fraud, yet not only did they do nothing, but they are "investigating". With all the evidence I gave them, this investigation should have ended as soon as it started. But it's been 2 weeks now and they are still "investigating". I've been on PayPal for almost 6 years without issue - the one fraudulent activity I do have (and the only time I've ever done a charge back - usually I pay through my bank), and I don't have PayPal there to help me. I'm almost done with my recent round of eBay purchases and items I'm selling. In the future, I doubt I'll use PayPal again unless I'm positive I can trust the seller (or buyer).

Log onto yahoo. then after google and other popular search engines and type in a serach term like for example "online payments" paypal should appear as a sponsored listing, which means they pay $4 a click, irrespective of whether you sign up or not, click back and forth until you get fed up and cost them a tidy few hundred or thousand dollars or whatever.

Next, spread this word round sites like this, to all your friends etc, urging them to do the same, saying quite rightly that this works best as a team effort with lots of people all doing the same thing and together we will cost them millions everyday until they go bankrupt, nice one eh folks ??
