I almost set 1 up but it envolves alot.

Paypal ebay only cares about buyers.
if it was not for the sellers they would not have anything.

They should care about both.
And work with both parties to come to an agreement.

We could always setup a site for people to put an auction site up.
Its not hard its just collecting money out of the people.

I now am working on a merchant acocutn thinking of other ways to set stuff up.
Paypal is about the only thing setup for people to easily use.
But with how much I have been reading since my prob. I dont think I want anything at all to do with paypal.

<David>,I know what you mean! I have thought of actually setting up my own internet auction sight or getting involved with others to do so! I am sick and tired of Ebay and Paypal. After you sell an item you make nothing as it is and they are ALWAYS on the BUYERS side! It's ridiculous! We are the one paying their ridiculously high fees and paypals too and we get scammed in the end when people decide they don't want to pay or they are tooo cheap to pay for insurance or delivery confirmation!

Hopestantiques,They did the SAME THING to me with a buyer! I sent her the item and she decided she wanted it for free and filed a claim for her money back! I am out the money for the item, the money I paid to ship it and the price she paid PLUS I am out Ebay fees to sell, final value fee and now THEY HAVE COMPLETELY FROZEN MY ACCOUNT! They denied all my other payments from my buyers so I can't even get the $150+ from them either! Any suggestions! I can't take it anymore! I dumped Paypal and I am thinking of exposing Ebay and paypal for their ridiculous unethical conduct!

I think Paypal Needs to be shut down and an alternative setup.
Paypal Refunded a customer who would not pick there item up at the post office.

WHen There was no refunds on items.
and told the customer thru ebay that I would refund him all but the shipping as long as I receive Product back unopened.
Paypal told me I was out no money.

They do not communicate with sellers they speak for you.

They refunded him before I received item back. and they take forever to reply.

PaypalSucks, CIA,FBI,Presidents of all countries where it operates, governors of all States where it operates, Main Office Chamber of Commerce, Main Office Better Business Bureaus, All major networks (last, after you get answers i.e. possible stories from the others), radio station KLO in CA (they are doing a "thing" on ID theft), both houses US Congress. Here's what I would do. I would turn the petition into a letter, asking a question for every statement (change them to questions). I would then send that query to all of the above, except network news and newspapers (the big ones). When you get your "answers" back, attach the questionaire, the answers and the petittion to the major newspeople. Don't forget Dept Justice and FTC. I think the answers to the questionaire will be "news" in and of themselves--you'll have a story to offer the newspeople, ie get petition noticed. That is what I would do.

PaypalSucks, This is a bunch of crap. I sent two boxes of dishes to California. The first containing 106 pieces via UPS, there was a double thick corrogated box containing another 5 boxes with the items individually wrapped, this box was checked at the UPS drop station to make sure it was secure. The other was sent via Priority Mail containing 6 pieces of china. Anyway the buyer gets the first box and there are several pieces broken, they notify Paypal who puts a hold on my account for $321. Meanwhile my account is tied up for 6 days now, these people have my merchandise and a pending insurance claim from UPS.

Paypal told me it is my responsibility that the packages are sent and arrive safely, what do I have to do now, fly all over the country hand delivering packages. It cost me over $70 in shipping charges to boot.

I can understand why some people won't take Paypal, I am seriously thinking of dumping them myself.

If they refund this money I will contact the police in the buyers town and file a criminal complaint for the theft of my merchandise.

Might want to add:

Why are paypal accounts based on a dynamic e-mail address, which can be recycled and used by someone else, and not based on a unique account number assigned to ONE person, or even based upon your social security number if a US citizen or a unique per "verified" user account number? Is there any other financial transfer service is the world who will send and give money from one party to another without verifying at the minimum the money recievers identity?

E-mail is not a verification, and there is no way to PROVE someone is who they say they are in e-mail without a DigitalID that is obtained by a reputable service and can be validated as current. Laws should be made that any financial transfer service should NEVER use an e-mail account as an ID or a username/account PERIOD. Require assigning of a UNIQUE per person, upon verification account number that cannot be transferred or assigned to another party.


How about this:

Since a paypal account stores money belonging to another individual, why don't they pay interest on said monies at the going interest rate on savings? Why can paypal treat monies that by right BELONG to an account holder as if it was their own to give and take as they please without a court order?

Even the government has to go through proper legal channels to freeze a bank account, your employer cannot legally hold your money from your pay without your consent, even if you ripped them off for $50k, (I guess this would vary from state to state in the US) but e-bay, an American based company, can arbitrarily take money they are "holding" for you, AND charge you money, AND then when u want to get it all out from them they charge you $1.50 on top of it. (see the small print on their "Close Account" page.) Mind you, that is money that you either a) got from sales and they have already deducted their charges from it, or b) for some STUPID reason you said sure e-bay I trust you, here, hold this money in reserve for me.

And I see on their webpage now that they have "78 million users" Do they? Prove it. I want them to PROVE they have 78 million unique and distictine users in their service. They are misleading and corrupt....*has sudden flashbacks of enron's corrupt management and accounting, the crash of the netconomy from bogus websites leading to the recession* Oh my god that's it, they hired all the ex-enron employees and the folks who created the internet ipo's that went bust, put them all in a room stirred the pot and said "How can we screw, not just Americans, but the world!"* /flashback off, I have a vivid imagination.... or is it? hummmmm

Just re-read the petition. Noticed you have, "We the undersigned do hereby request."

If asking the press to investigate than the word request can be used. However, if you ask those responsible to take action AND investigate, than the word to use is 'demand.'

Can read, "We the undersigned do hereby request impartial investigation [by the international free press], and demand that appropriate sanctions and actions be taken by govermental bodies on an local, national, and international level..." Well, something like that.

Big difference between request and demand. What do you think?

Its good you took initiative to start a petition. I know its in the working stage, but am not sure what phase its in or what kind of feedback you need. So, I would like to contribute with some proposals.

AT THE BEGINNING

1) Write the date on the petition, when it is released.

2) More information is needed at the beginning. Purpose or goal of the petition, general info, etc.

3) Who are you (I’m assuming you) will take the petition to? To journalists? How will it be used and presented, as a lobby tool? Relates to above point # 1.

4) Do you represent a collation? The petition could have a broader reach and more “status” if it done in cooperation with an non-governmental organization, watchdog, or coalition doing similar work. Basically, “we the users and xxxx.” Maybe also add “and potential users of PayPal…” at the beginning. This would make for a great introduction, if possible. Something here is missing and am not 100% sure what.

5) You are asking that, “worldwide free press” investigate. Perhaps we can ask others who are responsible for such issues to investigate. Maybe something that guinn2005 mentioned. If its an international petition something generic, such as asking, “national governmental authorities and international bodies responsible for xxx to investigate.” They should investigate this because this is their job.

6) Similar to above point number 4. We can use the same language and mandates PayPal refers to, when asking relevant parties to investigate. Such as what PayPal has referred me to “United Nations and other international mandates” (The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury administers http://www.treas.gov/offices/enforcement/ofac/)

AT THE END

7) At the end you have stated that contact information will be held by PayPalSucks.com. You will have to give a sentence or two about what is PayPalSucks.com. As well as, for what purpose is this information that will not be displayed being held by PayPalSucks.com?

8) Promote yourself. If the petition is being linked to, provide something like, “Feel free join our team by linking this petition to your site. For more information please see PayPalSucks.com or contact email@address.com,” at the very end.

9) Give time line. When will the petition end. Will it end?


These are some thoughts and suggestions. They are just proposals. I hope they can help. Great initiative. The petition is also Mozilla compatible. ;o)
