Exactly! That's why this country's economy is going down the tubes...because of greedy corporate criminals like the ones that run PayPal. Let's run Paypal out of business so someone better can come along. There's no way to "reform" it. There are already laws in place and PayPal simply ignores those laws. Besides...PayPal's tactics are UNETHICAL! No amount of legislation is going to make someone honest and fair.

Who has a link to sign any petition against Paypal with reference to their criminal actions relating to their capricious desires and whims with absolutely no basis to freeze/suspend/limit accounts? I only had my Paypal account for two weeks when it became suspended. Like a fool, I played their game, and I sent them pages of information verifying that I was the accountholder, not once, but twice. They apparently "lost" my package the first time. Then, they still did not "unfreeze" my account. I sent them at least ten emails, some in a threatening tone regarding contact various State and federal agencies and report their fraudulent schemes. After numerous emails, I simply received "generic" responses directing me to go to my Paypal account site and click on "how to resolve limited account" and all of my attempts were futile. I came to the conclusion that it is in fact "impossible" to resolve. Then I called Paypal at 888-221-1161 and I inquired about my account. The women told me that she would pass my concern to another department and that they would get back to me within twenty-four hours. That was about three weeks ago. My account had been frozen on august 30, 2008, and it is nearly three and a half months later, and I still cannot access my nearly $200.00 in that account, which I surely could use right now. May these thieves hold my money indefinitely? They told me that they would release my funds in the form of a check in six months. I don't believe a word they say anymore. Does anyone know if that is true, and are these actions even legal. Also, I intend to file an "Official Complaint" with the Attorney General Offices of both PA (where I reside) and NE (where I sent my documents). Somebody had provided a CA address as well. Also, I believe that they have a Luxembourg address, the smallest country in the entire world. What are they doing there? Have they overthrown there government and plotting to conquer the Earth?? Well, not if I can help it. It is not so much about the money - it isn't alot to worry about - it's the principle that I have been "SCAMMED" by these guys at Paypal, who appear to be above the law, righteous, and almighty and I would like to participate in any way I can to "take them down". Somebody wrote that Paypal is necessary for various reasons, i.e., students travelling abroad, homeless people, etc. I disagree with that sentiment since if Paypal is "taken down", somebody will create a "clone" site, but the next time, they won't be run by common thieves, scam artists, and greedy white collar criminals who they have in their employ at this time. I would imagine that part of their training process is a crash course in "How to become a professional liar and scam artist in ten days - 101" All of their employees appear to be absolutely crooked. If there is anybody out there who can direct me to the proper websites to file various complaints, it would be greatly appreciated.

With all due respect, your suggestion is absolutely ridiculous. We all need the services Paypal offers. It's fantastic. The problem is that Paypal is having troubling handling the millions of false positives its anti-fraud detection software creates and that is why they paid over $100 million for a new anti-fraud detection system. They also can't handle all the complaints and the manual investigations needed.
The problem with Paypal is that it is trying to hide its internal issues from everyone and in doing so, it is lying to people and stealing their money. We need to force Paypal to change its ways and it needs to think of the consumer first.
Here's an example of how Paypal empowers people: A student is traveling in Europe. To earn money during his travels, he performs web graphic design on his wireless laptop. His clients pay him via Paypal. He then goes to the nearest ATM and uses Paypal's debit card to pull out the cash from his Paypal account that his client just sent him.
Here is another example, a homeless person walks into a library and uses the libraries free Internet computer to help people set up their eBay affiliate websites. These people pay the homeless person via Paypal and the homeless person goes to the nearest ATM and pulls out the cash.
How about this example, a charity organization distributes the new hand powered and wireless laptops to people in Africa. These people provide services to clients on the Internet Worldwide and the clients use Paypal to pay them. The people go to the nearest Bank/ATM and pull out the money.
Don't forget that Paypal's debit card has the Mastercard logo on it and these people can use the card to also buy good or pay for lodging.
Now this is fantastic. So, we don't need to take Paypal out of business, we need to force it to change.

designerfashions, donation is OPTIONAL. you dont have to donate. you can skip the donations part. And the best way to get your money back and sooner is to sue them! Trust me! I have a class action against the greedy monster you are welcome to join if you want to. if they froze less than a thousand dollars from you i think you can take them to small claims court in your state ( its free to file ) but if i were you, sue them! i did, along ith a few people on this site to teach the blood sucking greedy monster her lesson
